D2sale Frequently Asked Questions - in game transfer safety

Usually legit items will not 'poof' or disappear, however many people doesn't know that there is a timer set by Blizzard to make items dropped on ground disappear after a while. See the topic below for instructions on how to prevent loss of items during transfer.

1.In Diablo II, Items and Gold Disappear after time when left on the ground

So Don't leave items or Gold lying on the ground any longer than necessary. Regular items (organ , white item , open socket item ) and Gold disappear in about 5 minutes. Magic items will disappear after 15 minutes. 2.Temp Ban

Temp ban last longer if you try to log in a lot. Blizzard is allowing only 20 runs per hour on a single cd key. or if u join and exit games too fast you will get temp ban as well. If you get it by joining and exiting to fast wait 10 mins and try logging in again. if you still have it only try to log in every 2 hours or so. they can last from 5 minutes to 3 days .to skip temp ban make sure each mule stays in game for 20 sec a piece.

Now , Transferring your items safety:

1. Have a friend help you. Give him the items, rejoin the game with the other character, he gives you the items back. This requires someone you can trust though. If you happen to have two computers and two copies of d2, you can obviously do this yourself too.

2. Join a game, preferably create an own game with password. Staying in a game for more than 5 minutes will 'perm' the game, meaning it will still be there even when you leave it. Always stay for more than 5 minutes, just for safety reasons. You can for example run bosses or something useful.

When you have been in the game 5+ minutes, drop the items you wish to transfer on the ground. Rejoin the game (quick, hurry!) with another character, pick the items up. This is more risky obviously, since you never know when b.net decides to kick you out temporarily. And if you self-mule, make sure not to create the game on a difficulty that your other char cannot access....
